Handset Remanufacturing

     With the success of our battery resurfacing and remanufacturing product lines, came the need to expand into the refurbishing and remanufacturing of the matching handsets. We have been involved in the manufacturing of telephony equipment for over 17 years. Towards that end, we have acquired the necessary technical expertise, library materials, and standard test equipment to remanufacture various lines of customer premise equipment.  Over this time period, we have developed a skilled workforce and management, focused on customer satisfaction in these areas.

     In the fourth quarter of 2001, we began the process of upgrading one of our technical bays as a handset remanufacturing line.  This required the installation of the necessary mechanical systems, packaging systems, and tracking systems, as well as the acquisition of state of the art WaveTech GSM, CDMA, and TDMA signal and function, test equipment.  During the first quarter of 2002, we are currently fine tuning our new production line and systems.

     During the first quarter of 2002, we had reached the 1000 unit per month goal that we set as a sign post for opening success. Our initial products using this procedure, will be CDMA based customer returns, from major carriers.  In addition, we will continue to refine our techniques in the repair of TDMA and GSM equipment.

     Each handset is thoroughly tested for function, cosmetics, transmit and receive, ancillary options, and all other testable parameters within the WaveTech system. In addition, we will process various locking codes, primary roaming lists, and other system access control functions.  Every telephone will be rated cosmetically as an 85+, to be considered for return to the field.  Our 85+ standard is well known in the battery remanufacturing business.  It represents high quality, with affordable pricing.

     Initially, the 1000 handsets produced each month, will be absorbed by a small number of carriers, with whom we have a relationship.  After we have proven our system, we will expand our production to meet customer demand.  If you would like to know more about this remanufacturing process, or any other service we provide, please contact us.
